About Ms. Ismail

Ms.Tammie Ismail is the Principal of Aqsa School and an alumna. She graduated from the University of Chicago with a Bachelor's in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. She was awarded the President's Volunteer Award from the University of Chicago while attending graduate studies in the Master of Arts Program in Social Sciences. Her commitment and dedication to her community brought her back to Aqsa in the role of an educator. She served as both a teacher and History Department Chair at Aqsa School. Ms. Ismail continued her leadership journey in education by serving as the Dean of Students and the Assistant Principal at Aqsa School. She has been recognized for her teaching with nominations for the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching and has been listed as Who's Who among high school teachers. She was also chosen as the recipient of the Excellence in Education Award from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. The award is for private school educators who have demonstrated outstanding service to their schools and students through their innovative contributions aimed at driving student achievement. Ms. Ismail is an active community member and advocate for inter-faith/community service and outreach.
